Learn to draw with AR — Step by step drawing using augmented reality

When we devised the initial idea of Ar Drawing Paint and Sketch, we understood that there would be dozens of ways to use it: drawing on paper walls, by artists or by those who would like to practice ar drawing. Most likely you have noticed before that we have not used such a phrase as “learn to draw”. That was not all that could be said about this, but there were reasons for this. Even though the utilization of this app could go hand in hand with learning, some of the users were overly simplifying this and concluded that the purpose of the app was only to track images. Maybe there was a certain amount of validity to this regarding the original iteration of the app. The process of tracing turn out to be quite useful for an actual working artist, as it simplifies the act of transferring a sketched design to other surfaces. However, the idea that one could utilize SketchAR surface perhaps foras many purposes as are depicted in the video below might not have been equally clear to the general public.

Anyway, next, the new update contains a lot of interesting and new features. Here they are:

1. Ar Drawing Paint and Sketch School

Grab the Augmented Reality (AR) toolkit to make drawing easily using simple step by step procedures. The School is a section containing a different set of drawing lessons. The essence of the learning experience is implemented primarily by the application itself, which is navigation in AR when drawing. This can be done by emulate the step by step guide and copying the lines.

After the user applies markers on a paper; the app guides the user through every subsequent stage of the drawing (four pluses). Also, text descriptions are provided for each step of the process.

2. Simplified the markers. From ‘zero’ to ‘plus’

We have already described composing the markers that we choose. As has been specified, we learned our lesson through choosing a circle for the first version of AR Drawing Paint and Sktech, because it would eliminate some problems.

Plus (+ or X) is clear for the user to draw on the glass while plus (+) is more difficult to be detected and recognized by the camera. On the last instance, we refined the difficulties and use ‘plus’ markers henceforth .

3. Iprovements are inside

Most innovations are hidden. It was possible to progress with the incorporation of the ‘progressive markers’, that has been employed into our method. This method has enriched the process recognition regarding all that the user outlines. The appearance of all this data alters the performance of the app and in doing so suggests algorithm in light of the particular needs of each drawer.

4. Artificial Intelligence

We use machine learning as an important part of AR Drawing Paint and Sketch. In this way, machine learning serves as a mechanism by which AR Drawing App acts as an assistant to the user to determine how we should draw an object and what drawing patterns he or she employs. With this information, each users specific algorithm should make them reach their goals in the art of drawing with personalized help.

5. Neural Networks

The approach of convolution neural network is a great enhancement of the application kernel which is very promising. The network I rained on a large set of real life samples obtained from people who have been using AR Drawing Paint and Sketch. This data is then utilized in determining the best approach in projecting the virtual sketch on the real surface. It adapts itself to learn for this purpose by rising all the information necessary for this particular task which in turn makes the algorithm more stable. There are already some positive outcomes, and given the increased amount of training data, this algorithm will be applicable to any field.
